Window Tint Tuesday

Getting my window tint done on Tuesday, so I have to drop the car off tomorrow evening. What does everyone think i should get on the car
i know im going to do black, but how dark
im thinking 25% on side windows and 15% on back windows...- mainly b/c i still wanna be able to see when backing up and when im turning- lol

I'd try to stay close to the 30% range. 35% is legal limit, plus the ST Police are really starting to crack down on window tint. According to our state inspection officer they are going to start coming down on lighting and tint pretty hard

I always stay with 35% I'm usually driving over the speed limit a little. Don't want them to have even more to right a ticket for.

get a prescription for tint like i did and go 20%.. its dark. but you can still see out of it fine at night and such..

the script says that i have Photophobia (light sensativity) due to the color of my eyes and that im required to have darker than legal tint as a safety precaution ..

So your telling me I shouldn't bring the Z06 to glotfeltys when its inspection time? lol

I have two buddies that go 5% all the way around but its to dark for the sides imo. I went 10% on the sides and 5% in the back. If mine was a daily driver I would go 20%.

if i can get inspected at glotfelty.. i'm definitely having mine darkened lol

my fox has 20% on the sides and 5% on the back. nobody passes me for inspection tho :confused4:

This past year when I got my old C6 inspected I went to 4 different garages in motown before I found one that would pass me. I always roll in with my windows down and just hope they dont ask me to put them up. The 1st 3 places asked me to put them up and when they saw the tint they said they had to put a tint meter on it. I told them not to even bother.

Then I went to Rainbow tire and there were a bunch of younger guys working there and they loved the car so much they wanted to look at it and talk about it for an hour. Then finally I was like, "hey can you guys throw a sticker on there real quick cause I gotta run." Didnt look at anything on the car and after a quick burnout for the guys I was outta there.

those people there rock! they have signs posted saying customers aren't allowed in the garage bay, but you can help work on your car, they don't care lol

i think im going to stick with the original plan of 25% on the sides and 15% on the back- i haven't had any problems with police around here b/c my best friends dad is the sheriff here in town and my hometown where most of the shows are i graduated with a lot of them- lol only problem would be trying to make shows in motown and places like that but i'll just cruise with windows down- and as far as inspections go my buddy is a mechanic down here in st. marys and he drives the orange and black striped 2010 camaro in the car club so i don't have to worry about that- he says do you want a sticker or an inspection- lol

well the guy talked me into something different- ended up with 20% on the sides and 5% on the back and he ended up doing it for free, so im going to get the side front side windows in the trailblazer tinted and maybe even the cobalt if i have enough left on the certificate
im going to promote his shop at local shows- thats why it was free

Where is the pictures

car is dirty as sin right now so next warm day which might be this weekend i'll get it cleaned back up and try to take some pictures of it- didn't take any before and after shots and its hard to judge the back windows, b/c they were already tinted i think 25% so they look dark in the pictures i already have but he took all the tint off before installing the new tint...

well i guess im lucky b/c i get to park at the neighbors b/c my hill is horrible- the bad thing is that her ex-husband is the sheriff in town and he saw it sitting there and told her son- my best friend that i don't think those windows are legal- lol he just told him i'd have to be careful with the state police b/c they do have a tint gun but the city wouldn't do anything- haven't had the tint on for a week and have already been spotted by the police :dohh:

yeah no doubt- i know they would be all over me then- but the only time i'll be driving it is to car shows mainly and then the wife will be driving it and i don't think they will bother her about it- i told her just to say that i said it was legal and then go about her business- lol
