| I've got a few things lined up that I want to do.. GM performance intake and exhaust (which are warranty friendly!), Black graphics (thanks to wvtrap), Black housing projector headlights and HID conv kit. I already have the Drifz wheels and Dunlop fierce tires... just waiting for the weather to break. The window tint and system have already been taken car of thanks to the guys at CarTunes. Then system consisted of one 12" P1, 300w Rockford Prime amp and mics Rockford components . With more to come I'm sure..... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| I'm pumped about them too. I'm probably gonna take a Saturday after we close up, so I can use the twin post lift in the back. I'm ordering the exhaust, intake and lights probably at the end of the month. I use to have a blue l.e.d. under car kit too, but I sold it to a buddy. kinda wish I had it now lol | |

| When are you gonna put your rims on? I have mine setting here wondering when to do the same. All of these pot holes popping up around Morgantown kind of worry me though. | |

| Nice! Will you need a tune with the intake/exhaust? | |

| Yea its hit or miss. Some cars need tuned with the smallest upgrades or it will throw a code and some ECU will adjust enought that you dont need one.
My car will adjust to intake and catback but once you add headers you need a tune.
No matter what the car would benifit from a tune but usually that means bye bye warranty.

| Yeah a car's ECM does not like the change of air flow across the map sensor. Skews fuel trims. I had to tune mine in. | |

The rims probably not till april maybe... it depends on this crazy ass weather.. D-rod according to GM, I won't have to, but we'll see. Premier actually beat all the mail order prices too, so it will be coming from them.

| If you need it tuned, I suggest DDM Works in North Carolina, they did a fantastic job on the Sol. Went from 16 to 33MPG and has more power too after the tune. If you ever need it tuned again, purchasing a tune from them gives you lifetime retuning at your postage expense. You pay both ways, they tune for free after the first one. I think it was intially 200.00? | |

Yea and with the money, I'd like to keep them around for a little while... Mainly sense there are issues I know I'll have to deal with. Cobalt's, G5's and Chevy HHR's are all prone for steering column, control arms and bushings, wheel bearings and fuel pumps. I have a fleet customer at work that runs these cars constantly and its like clock work watching these problems come up.

| Yeah haha. I like running high boost too much to not tune it. Had my tune since 600 miles. It's hidden though, programed so the chevy dealer cannot read the hidden tune file or tell it's been flashed before. Vince from Trifecta Performance is a genius when it comes to tuning cobalts, g5s, solstice, and sky's. | |

| The motor in your car should be perfectly fine without a tune with the mods you have listed you plan on doing.. Now if you were to get into more serious mods such as headwork/cam, etc, then a tune would be a must. From there I would suggest someone who is good at tuning with HP Tuners it's a fantastic GM four banger tuning software that goes beyond tuning and allows you to change things as simple as whether you want day-time running lights or not. With the price of tuning a car, what you would extract from tuning your n/a motor with such simple mods would not be a good price to power ratio. | |

| I/E you shouldn't have to have a tune as most ecu's today are learning ecu's. Once you push them to their limits, i.e. headers plus more then you start heading to world of piggybacks, fuel tuners, and tunes. After doing I/E i'd throw it on the dyno with a sniffer to make sure you not running to rich or lean. If you are or add more (as in headers) then i would look in something like a SAFC or some type of fuel tuner.. | |

Yea with most cars it takes headers before the ecu cant adjust for the airflow but my buddy had a 2010 mustang and he said he needs a tune if he goes intake and catback or he will throw codes????
