Datsun: Coming Back?

According to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Nissan plans to resurrect its long-vanquished Datsun brand. Reportedly, Datsun will serve to produce low-buck cars for "emerging markets": in this case, Russia, Indonesia, and India. But hey, it's a start. Maybe one day there'll be a cool retrostyled Z car or 510 in it for us. Now if only GM would do the same thing with Pontiac... via Carscoop.

I have always liked Datsuns. I hope they do bring them back. They were sporty and handled pretty well.....Just not very fast. Seems like everyone is liking the modern retro looks so they may do well if they decide to bring them back.

I like that concept car picture, but the real thing will come in a much more boring shape with tamer colors inevitably.

pretty nice concept, as was said, production model will probably bore me..

I've seen pics of that Z car before, they look incredible. Last I heard it was just some random person's fan art type thing, though.

I hope they come back as well. I'd buy that, if that's actually what it looked like... but I'm afraid you guys are right, the actual model will be so dumbed down, no one will want it

looks porsche-ish to me... but i really like it.
