I've been trying to find some high performance tires for my 02 neon. I can't seem to find any that are this size p185/65r15 anywhere

Not sure what you can fit on that from clearance and stock wheel size, but wider is better for performance and if you can manage it, try looking for 205 or 215 wide and see if they can fit. 185 is pretty dang narrow. Had a couple vehicles that called for the size you are looking for but the owners had put 215 or 225 wides on the stock wheels.

I don't know if people around here sell the brand, but these tires that came on my wheels, Nankang NR1 (they shorted me, were supposed to be NR2), are cheap as heck and some of the best tires I've ever had as far as grip. Had to replace a couple and used some Hankook Ventus, and though I've heard they are good, they don't hold a candle to the freakin Nankangs for some reason.

205/60/15s are basically the same size and a bit wider. They'll fit just fine I'm certain.

With that size in mind you can find all sorts of tires.

^ correct, that size wil fit a neon no problem. i run 16's and use 205/50/16s

brands i've used
yokohama
falken
Kumho

for a performance tire my favorite (and currently use) are the falken's ziex ze512

i know you said you wanted to get into drag racing, for that (on stock axles) i'd use BF goodrich drag radials.

I think the neon 14s have a high performance that fit those wheels and since there smaller I can lower the unsprung weight.

I'd def recommend bumping up to a 205... 185/60R15 is actually what came on the Neon's from OEM, so you have a half plus size on there now the way it is... but you need wider not taller.
