Went to PRP today and got a new personal best. However, it wasn't as fast as I wanted. I went on 345/35/18's that are just shy of 28" tall. The best 60' I could cut today was a 1.78. On my 26" tires I could cut 1.68.
.1 in the 60' usually ends up being .2 in the 1/4 so it was frustrating knowing that if I could cut a 1.5 or 1.6 I would have been 10.5-10.4.

Troy is in town so him and his co-worker with a huge cummins came up. The cummins went 14's. Not bad for a lifted truck on 38's

I would say he is more like Wiley Coyote with his breakage record.....Aren't Chevy's assembled by Acme? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The car was trapping 135-136mph. 10.74 is a horrible time for that mph. It may seem fast but it is honestly embarassing. I wish I would blame it all on the 28" tire that was hurting my gearing but it was also bad driving. Not sure what was wrong with me yesterday.

Too bad I missed it, lots of people were running well yesterday!
A guy on the Sky forum posted a 12.662 @ 111 -- as far as we know that's the stock turbo record for a Sky. I want to beat that before I buy a bigger turbo. He's a manual and running Nitto DR's, I should be able to beat that in the auto with M/T DR's... Our other mods are somewhat similar, and we're both self tuned so it really comes down to the better tuner after that and best conditions.

Well I was on corvetteforum and kinda have some good news for the car. It is the 13th fastest Z06 with internal engine mods (no power adders) on the fast list. It has top 10 or possibly top 5 in it. Oh well, there is always next year.

That's not too bad considering the competition!
You're a solid 2 seconds faster than me too, after I get the stock turbo record maybe I should chase you. I think the Sky would be dangerous at that kind of power.

Pretty much every solstice with a wades V8 has been wrecked because of being so unstable with supercharged corvette power.

I guess it all comes down to how you drive it, but the potential for error is greater with that kind of power.
His setups are "only" in the high 400s HP, which shouldn't be unmanageable. The biggest problem I see is not stiffening the chassis any. It will wheel hop and twist all over the place.
I want to get in the 10s on the Sky with stock motor some day (let's say like 2015). I will have to upgrade the top end but the bottom is fine and I should only need a moderately huge turbo. 500whp will put the Sky confidently in the 10s. And then I probably will have to baby it or run a low-boost tune to keep it street safe.

Test and tune is set for next weekend again on the PRP site!
My drag radials may be here as early as Wednesday... I'm going to say if they're here this week I'll go. Homework is a PITA, but I'm going to be caught up enough by then I can make it for sure.

I may go back saturday on my 26" tires. I will know later in the week. I want a 10.5 in the worst way.
You are right.....500rwhp should put your sky in the 10's. Our cars weigh about the same and I am currently at 518rwhp. However with my displacement, I'm sure my torque curve starts much sooner.

I forgot to post it on here but Troy made a pass in my car too. He went 11.34 @ 134.

Yeah I won't run a 10.5 with the same horsepower as you, but I should break 11 with that kind of horsepower. It'll be a few years, but I think I'll try.
I'd be scared to drive your car, it's been like 8 years since I drove a stick, and even then it wasn't for long.
If my drag radials are here I will be too antsy not to go. On street tires it's still fun but I'm likely to frustrate myself a bit. I'll get like a 13.5 pass @120 instead of 12.x at 110.

Do you powershift when you race, Dave?

No I just load the gears. Usually shifting is my strongpoint but if you listen to the video my 1-2 shift was lacking on that run.

Even though you don't powershift you're a quick shifter! lol
