The GT-R will get upgrades in engine, transmission and suspension
departments for 2013. For one thing, the twin-turbocharged 3.8L V6 will
breathe better, thanks to expanded intake ductwork and openings. Shifts
will be smoother as Nissan refines the twin-clutch 6-speed with a
burlier shift fork and fortified bearing. And suspension is upgraded
with a refined shock-and-spring package and additional valving.
Horsepower gains are only in the neighborhood of 15 ponies for a total
of 545, (and 15 lb-ft torque, up to 463). Maybe a little meh compared
to the 45-hp bump between the 2011 and 2012 models, but it's good to see
Nissan continuing to improve and refine their halo car instead of just
leaving well enough alone. And 2013 will come sooner than you think!
2013 models will become available for purchase in Janurary 2012,
presumably to get some solid sales numbers in ahead of the worldwide
apocalypse scheduled for later that year. Via
