v8 or die (over and over again)

Ok here is the deal. I have a fully built drift car and i have been running turboed 4 cylenders and they keep blowing up. I blew up my forth motor in one year last weekend. So im looking to put a v8 in my car. I'm on a low budget so i was looking at truck motor but I need an alumminim block. (for weight) So if any one can find a cheap l33 or ls1 drop out let me know. The l33 is the 5.3 out of the z71 trucks i think. I also need a t56 trans. please help me out.

i think your best bet would be to go online and search the salvage yards that pull the parts out of the wrecked vehicles. One of them is bound to have what you are looking for. I was looking at getting a replacement engine for my truck, it would have been fully dressed with 40,000 miles on it for $600 shipped to my door.

I've never actually used them, but I have heard a lot of good things about this place. It is a listing of all of the salvage yards and their inventories. You just type what you're looking for and the site does the rest.

Talk to Jolly Roger on here. He just dropped a 4.8 in his 240 but also knows of a LS1 in fairmont.

I'm dropping a 5.3 (but do have a extra 5.3 block but it's iron, i'll let it go cheap!) People horde LS motors around here. I have a friend in Fairmont that has a complete 2000 LS1 for sale, i also have another friend that has a 2005 LQ9 complete (6.0 motor) with trans (4L80e).

Watch what newer 5.3's your looking at as some are DOD and aren't what you want them for. I had a friend learn that lesson the hard way.
