Unfortunately since I got rid of the Legacy my attention has shifted to my motorcycle. 2009 Yamaha FZ1 [Blue] with just under 6k miles (since June 29 last year). Current modifications are a Two Brothers M-2 Carbon Fiber slip on (sad really how much the stock one weighs), fender eliminator, integrated signal/brake lights, frame sliders, stomp grips, zero gravity double bubble windshield and new light bulbs. I ordered new tires two weeks ago thinking I had around 500-1k miles left and got home last Sunday (April 29, 2012) and realized I didn't have that many miles left.

So it has been sitting in the garage waiting for tomorrow to get the new tires put on.

This stated it all. Work was going slow so I was looking around and contacted Lee at Traxxion Dynamics and ordered a Penske 8983 shock, still have around 2-3 weeks before I get it and then I ordered a set of '08 R1 forks, brakes, rotors and mbc for the front. The front end will be in before the rear so I am just going to wait and try and do it all at once. I'll post pictures when the parts start rolling in.

Here it is just after I got it.

The rear foot peg holders on the 2010 and newer ones are black, that actually is something I would like to do.

Oddly enough when I went to the shop today to drop the bike off to get tires swapped tomorrow some idiot decided to throw a utility knife tip on the road as I noticed when I gr off my bike and heard a hissing noise. I was agitated but then said well, better now then just after I got the new ones put on.

Traded it in on a 2012 C300 4Matic. With what happened to my accord after the warranty expired and not feeling like paying a boat load to fix it as that and the bike are my only modes of transportation decided to trade up. I really wish insurance was cheaper for a wrx or something similar. That and it's a lease as history has to this point anyway shown I like to trade every two/three years. Still love the legacy 3.0 but tried to play it smart. Hence my "toy" fund is going to bike parts :)

I havent heard the bike much lately Adam. I guess that could be due to cords showing in the tire. lol

That would be correct. I am glad I finally heard your bike and hear it leave your driveway for once.

Well finally got the Rear Shock delivered on Friday and installed it that night. So far so good. Handling is more composed than before. Waiting on some bolts to finish assembling the front. Hopefully that will happen this week(end). Here are the pics.

Over the weekend I started the swap on the front and after I got it all on there realized that the front master cylinder for the R1 can use the same lever for the FZ1 in addition to the brake lines being to short, so off they went, stock put back on, new lines and levers ordered so hopefully by this time next week all will be well.

I agree a ride needs to be done. Mostly it is just back and forth to work/home but I take the back roads every now and then. BigSmile

Well after the another pain staking process the front end is swapped. Picking up the real bolts instead of the lowes ones used temporarily as the place I bought them online fell through and blah blah blah.....

Front end now has 2007/2008 R1 tubes (gold) with 6pot calipers, SS brake lines and AVS brake lever. Need to figure out something "nicer" for the brake fluid reservoir holder. Will post pictures later.

All cleaned up, mostly and used the new polisher [Flex 3401] on it with Chemical Guys polishing compounds.

The Gold ones response is better and are more adjustable. The problem I have now is the "Gold" wheels that came on it don't match the "Gold" tubes from the R1 or even the other FZ1s out there. Normally when they are on the FZ1 they have black wheels.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Also, I think I need to stop browsing specific forums for my modes of transportation. That tends to greatly increase the mods I do. Case in point, just bought some rear sets and the graves motorsports full exhaust. It's one of those I can't wait BigSmile but DAMN you internetz! Mad

On a side note: I am so glad I decided to get the 5D MKII, loads better than the 7D, which was fantastic itself. Now I need to sell that........

So...On the way to bleed the brakes at a friends house I noticed this in my tire. Not happy as I just put these tires on ~3 months ago.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Oddly enough I had placed an ordered for the "Gold" wheels from an 08 that should match the forks better earlier that day.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So I had to get some new tread. There is an Angel for the first 1,000 miles then the halo goes away and becomes evil. At least that is what others have said. Pirelli Angel ST 190/50/17 (rear) 120/70/17 (front)

The bike with no rear :(
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Need to get the new rubber on the new wheels so I can continue to ride. Just about to hit 9k on the bike (14.5 months old)
