Well, to get my mind off stuff I went down to the garage, cleaned up Kurt's tailights and sprayed the 1st and only full coat of tint onto them using VHT spray tint. I will sand out whatever orange peel marks are visible at a later time once they dry. Currently they are in my garage in an area no air is moving in hopes they will dry dust free.

First I cleaned the lens three times each with alcohol and then wiped them down with a glass microfiber to remove the dust left from the towels. Then I layed them in the buckets we used at the car show to keep them from flipping over and to make them easier to handle after painting.

Upon initial inspection, I noticed these problems with the lights.

First one is most of the lights had bugs inside the lens. Not sure how they got in there, but they are there.

Next I noticed scuffs that looked like tape marks on the lens, but not really sure what it was, you couldnt feel it, so I dont think it was tape. Either way, they felt smooth, so I vht'd over them in hopes it would go away. You can see it in these pics

Now onto the tinting. Lens one.

Dark Grey. It will look good when I get done too.
Ive done a few sets now, all came out great with no orange peel, no runs and a factory finish shine after buffing.

Okay, now onto the wet sanding. I put a decent ammount of car wash soap in my little bucket, and used 1200 grit sandpaper and sanded down the lights until they all matched in color depth. This also removed the orange peel and made the lens silky smooth.
