I'm looking to trade-in my Tc and get something bigger. It's a little difficult getting my little girl in the back [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I'm looking at some SUV's and AWD or 4WD is a must. I need something that can also haul a small trailer with a lawnmower and weedeater on it, seeing how I cut grass afterwork. For the price and everything I've read the Kia Sorento sounds good, but I'm not sure about a 4-cylinder powering both the SUV plus a trailer.

Another thing is I want to try to keep the cost down, because I'd like to get a motorcycle. With that being said I'd like to see your opinions. Thanks!!1

I'm really looking to buy something new. That's what I meant by the trade-in part. I'm kinda weird about buying anything used, even if its only been used once. One of my weird ticks lol.

Hyundai has really done wonders with their vehicles these past couple years. Plus they have a good warranty.

Don't go for a Kia, man. My sister got rear-ended in her '95 Jeep by a girl in a brand new Kia. The lady said it wasn't a month old. We still drive the Jeep with the dented rear hatch, the Kia had to be towed from the wreck and was totaled. Like Aaron said, great price but you get what you pay for. I say check out the Ford Escape or Jeep Liberty or Compass. :goodluck1:

Compass is ok.. based on the same platform as the dodge caliber. They have huge control arm issues. I've seen it a dozen times, 20-30k miles and the control arms and ball joints are falling off.

I agree with Aaron, my mom has a 2008 Jeep Compass and has had nothing but trouble with suspension / ball joint, she is looking to trade herself!

Well crap I had a long response up here and forgot to send it and while I was getting a shower the old lady hit the close button. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Anyway, I was reading about the Escape and the only bad thing they had to say was the rear brakes were drums instead of disks, so it made the braking distance longer. I found a couple 2011 AWD V6 Escapes for 25500, seems like a good deal but they are in Columbus, OH. Can someone tell me if I'll have to pay sales tax there or here in WV? That's about 4-5K less than I can find them around here, not counting the incentives Ford's offering. Here's my list of things I'm looking for in a new vehicle

AWD for my trip to work
Be able to tow a few hundred pounds for my other job
Decent gas mileage
Monthly payment under 400, even if it has to be 72 months
Size doesn't matter
And I don't really plan on doing any mods or anything to it. Except if I go with the Escape I'll probably get the XLT Sport Package, but thats about it.

Thanks for all the help guys!! And Scott I really liked your Grand Cherokee but it's just a little out of my price range at the moment.

I know on a used vehicle you dont pay sales tax until you come back to WV. Not sure how it works on a new car.

I know you want new but Rachels Escape is in perfect condition for an '05. Hell you can buy 3 of hers before you would be at the price of a new one. :)

BTW- What kind of bike are you looking for?

Well, don't forget to check out the Honda CR-V... they are about as dependable as you get in a small SUV. Also if you like the Escape look at the Mazda Tribute(pretty much the same as an escape) and CX-7... both of those start out base around 20k.

well i we just bought a 2011 gmc terrain awd with the 4 cyl... i jumped off with some great gas mileage, but it has settled back down to about 23.5 and still less than 1000 miles on it so not broke in yet... looking to get around 25mpg... we went with the 4cyl for gas mileage b/c this is a dd for the wife now that we got rid of the cobalt and trailblazer.... honestly i keep my seat from where im driving at and get in the back and i have about 4" from knee to back of seat... plenty of room.... and the rear seats move forward and back to give people more room or storage room... I really haven't seen to many people complain about the terrain's, but they are still fairly new... i'm sure the 6cyl would tow easier, but if your just towing a mover and weedeater, you will be fine with the 4cyl... we also looked at the chevy equinox which is basically the same vehicle, but with fewer options on it's base model so the price is a couple thousand less... we paid 26,500 for the terrain and they also paid our trailblazer off at 8,400 and the sticker price of the terrain was 27606... we dealt with bob trickett in clarksburg... if you wanna know anymore about these 2 vehicles let me know...

I appreciate you trying to help me out D-Rod and it sounds like a really good deal, but I just can't. And as far as a bike goes I'm looking for a 600 supersport of some kind. Something like a GSX-R, ZX-6r, R6 something like that. But that'll probably wait until next spring.

Motown I'll have to look those up. Thanks for the heads up on those.

thewrightcamaro - I went to Premier in Morgantown to look at an equinox but they jerked me around so much I was to pissed to even consider it anymore. i'll have to check somewhere else. I like the Terrains alot more than the Equinox, but for my situation it makes more sense for me to get the Equinox. I'll have to check out a different dealership though.
