Thanks man, I started with a die cast, cause I know a little about repair car bodys, was gonna try the same principles with the model, since I know nothing about those..

Put some more work into the model today.

Back bumper finally harden

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now I just need to fill in the small places with scratches. Then carve our the bumper.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

New material waiting to dry above.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Getting ready to carve out fenders with a drill and a file.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Added primer so I could see imperfections above easier.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Added more material after sanding out imperfections after primer dried.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Sanded that out, here is what it looks like now, but still not finished.

Well, some putty dried today, I sanded the back bumper and then filled in some more putty where pieces chipped out. The hood, I reprimered to see the defects with home small inperfections would fill in and sand out with 1500 grit paper. We will see. Here are pics of the progress from today.

The model I started with, I bought two.

Tonight I decided to start on Norms fenders. I was thinking about carving these out with a metal file but I really dont have the right tools, So I decided to drill them out, and then carve them out of bondo that I fill the gap back in with.

Continuing the build today. Painted and then scrub down with a scrub pad. Will repaint again later, but you can get the idea of what its gonna look like.

Back to work. Was ordered to have this finished before this car season by the wife.. lol

So.. here are the pics continueing on this build.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

New paint.. and not just any paint. this is the exact color and type of paint used on our solstice. This is pontiac paint from the dealership on this model.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Painted in the fog lights.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Grills installed.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Before and after.. used another silver car to make one like ours.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Headlights in.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Tinted the tailights with vht and a paint brush, then clear coated just like a real one.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Motor in.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Tada!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

NOTICE THE TRIM AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AND TRUNK.. I am having it painted black on the real car to match what I done on the model. I like it better for sure.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now I need an Exhaust.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Cut some aluminum tubing and bonded it in with the putty used for the hood.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

UT oh.. solstice is getting pulled over..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
